My name is Nadia Hamada, but my whole life I’ve been called Hamada (long story short: my family doesn’t really do last names). Although I’ve spent a large portion of my life in Sudbury, I am now living in Hamilton, where I am attending McMaster university for the Arts and Science program.
Before finding Future North, I had always felt like I had a lot to say regarding equity and justice, but I just never felt like I had anywhere to speak up. When I was asked to join a focus group for Culture of the North, I finally felt seen. I wanted more, so I joined the Youth Expert Panel. Since then, my highlights have been featuring in the HOPE campaign, becoming co-chair of the Youth Expert Panel, and travelling to Saskatchewan for CBYF.
The Youth Expert panel is something I hold very dear to me and I can’t wait to see what else we accomplish in the future as youth, for the youth.
